virtual wine tasting
The best way to describe my sommelier led virtual wine tastings is that they are fun, laidback, and approachable! Any level of wine enthusiast can benefit from a sommelier guided tasting with me. The fantastic thing about wine is there is always something new we can learn! I have been doing in-home private wine tastings since 2015 and took them virtually in 2018 to cater to more clients across the globe! I have curated approachable and resourceful wine tasting materials to download and print to follow along with during my tastings. I use these materials for both my in-home and virtual tastings. You will have lifetime access to these materials after our tasting together. I have made myself available seven days a week for virtual tastings to accommodate everyone the best that I can. Along with your sommelier tasting materials, I will curate a custom wine list that will make buying your wine simple regardless of where you live.
Our tasting will be a video call through Zoom, will provide a link to everyone who will be on the call. The tasting will last for about an hour and 15 min.
I will send everyone professionally designed wine tasting grids, wine tasting mats, custom wine and food pairing guide, along with a wine 101 guide. You will have lifetime access to all of these materials.
You will need to grab your wine. I will link you to specific wines to purchase in your specified budget online but also provide suggestions that you will be able to find at your local wine shop. I will send you more information on the wine suggestions once payment is received.
My sommelier led tasting fee is $50/per person for parties of 3 or less and $40 for four or more. Your tasting fee needs to be paid via Venmo (Samantha-Capaldi) to secure your virtual tasting date/time officially. This tasting fee is non-refundable. If you need to reschedule, I require a 48-hour notice. I will hold this as credit for your future tasting. Wine is not included in this cost.
Once paid, please provide me with the e-mails of who will be on the call ASAP so I can get all the details sent out!
Types of Virtual Wine Tastings
New World vs. Old World Tasting
This is my OG wine tasting that I recommended for anyone new to tasting with me! We will go over the main characteristics of what makes an Old World Wine, ex: Italy, Spain, France, different from a New World Wine, ex: California, New Zealand. This tasting will be a great option if you are trying to branch out and explore new wine regions/varietals but are not even sure how to even begin finding ones that you'll love. Don't worry, I got you!
Porch Pounder Tasting
The infamous term you know I am obsessed with if you follow me on my social media, #porchpounder! What is a porch pounder exactly? To me, it's a wine that equals low to medium alcohol, easy-drinking, and doesn't require food to taste delicious! Don't just limit your porch pounders for summertime, we need these drinkable wines moving into fall and winter too. Think of what you want to be guzzling down by the fire pit or on the couch while you're waiting for your meal to be ready!
"Seasonal Tasting" Sam's Fall Faves
This tasting will be focusing on the vibe of the season that we are currently in! Let's explore some of the fall favorites that I always have on hand for food pairings and family gatherings! I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by what I share with you...
Sam, Suprise me!
This style tasting is for my adventurous wine lovers! After being a sommelier and leading private wine tastings for over 5 years, I love it when I get to curate a wine list without and specifics. Do you trust me? ;)
Other formats of tastings are available by request, just fill out a form and we will talk it out!
